William E. "Bill" Pechart

William E. “Bill” Pechart, 81, of Fredericksburg, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018, at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Maryann V. (Kehm) Pechart, with whom he celebrated 37 years in marriage. Bill was born in Enola on June 6, 1936, to the late Edward and Elsie (Wertz) Pechart. Bill was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He was a truck driver for various trucking companies, and he worked 29 years with Carolina Freight. Bill was awarded 1,000,000 miles of safe driving during his career. He was a member of the Fredericksburg American Legion Post 915. He was on both of the Legion’s pool teams. He enjoyed shooting pool and traveling to different Legions to play. Bill was a Phillies fan and an animal lover. He enjoyed watching The Price is Right and playing cards with his friends and Maryann. He also had a love for working on cars. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Cindy V. wife of David Ickler of Camp Hill, Sharon L. wife of Russell Marburger of Etters, step-daughter Ginny S. Lechner of Reading, and step-sons Glenn D. husband of Lori Geiger of Breinigsville & Timothy D. husband of Wanda Geiger of Schnecksville; fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren & two great-great grandchildren; brothers Gary husband of Kay Pechart of Camp Hill, David husband of Diane Pechart of Camp Hill, Terry husband of Joanne Pechart of Mechanicsburg, Rodney husband of Nancy Pechart of FL, Jeffrey husband of Sherrie Pechart of Carlisle & Allen Pechart of York; and sisters Linda wife of Jerry Bottoms of NC, Theresa wife of Rodney Heasley of NC, Carol wife of Roy Rogers of Camp Hill, and Sheila Pechart of Camp Hill. He was preceded in death by his step-mother Earla Pechart, brothers Robert, Eddie & Donald Pechart, and sisters Helen Jones & Mary Benson. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018, at 11 A.M. from Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 72 & Camp Meeting Road, Jonestown. Interment will be private. There will be a viewing held one hour prior to the services from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Lebanon County, 150 N. Ramona Road, Myerstown, PA 17067.
