Patricia J. Smock

Patricia June (Clark) Smock, 65, of Cornwall passed on to be with her Lord on Wednesday October 12, 2011 in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. She was the wife of Larry P. Smock. Born in Erie on November 30, 1945 she was the daughter of the late Raymond G. and Dorothy Moore Clark. She was a 1963 graduate of Academy High School in Erie, was a homemaker and attended Living Waters Chapel in Lebanon, PA. Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons Brian L. Smock and wife Leah C. of Cornwall and Barry R. Smock and wife Karen S. of Erie; a sister Carol wife of Richard Rouse of Erie and four grandchildren Paige, Jackson, Carrie and Michael Smock. Patty was a devoted wife, loving mother and adored grandmother. She was one of the quite, gentle souls in this world and she will be greatly missed by family and friends. The world celebrates the famous and fails to appreciate those who tread lightly, and have kind hearts that break when others around them are hurting. Pat was one of the kindest. She was married for 47 years to her high school sweat heart and never stopped loving him; they truly walked through life together. After her husband retired they left their life long home in Erie and spent the last few years exploring the US in an RV, ending up in Branson, Missouri. Pat loved that time exploring and resettling with her husband but missed her family too much and so brought the RV back to central PA to be near her youngest grandchildren. She loved decorating and finding burried treasures at garage sales, working with charitable organizations, reading scripture, talking with close friends and watching her granchildren play soccer, go off to college, perform recitals and above all making sure “nobody gets hurt”. Patricia loved her family but always longed for the time when all things will be perfected. I Corinthians 13:10 “But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.” II Corinthians 5:1 Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling. A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday October 16, 2011 from the Living Waters Chapel 1900 Jay St. Lebanon, PA 17042. Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family.
