Mary W. Blouch

Mary W. Blouch, 100, died August 10, 2015 at the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. She was the wife the late Cyril E. Blouch to whom she was married 23 years. He passed away in 1963. Born in Lebanon on July 23, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Anne Brubaker Weiss of Lebanon. Mary was employed part time during high school at McCrory’s 5 & 10. After graduation from South Lebanon she received a diploma from Lebanon Business College and worked for the Lebanon Mutual Insurance Company. She managed the cafeteria for South Lebanon Schools taking care of menu’s, staffing, scheduling, purchasing, and accounting, and later was appointed Executive Secretary. At Cedar Crest High School she was a Librarian. After retirement, she worked in photo licensing for the PA Department of Transportation. She was proficient in violin and piano and walked from the farm at Linden and State Drive to Lebanon for her lessons. She was a member of the Midway Church of the Brethren where she was a Sunday School Teacher, served on the Building Committee, as Church Librarian, worked in the Quilting Group and sang alto in the Choir. Mary was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Farm Women Group, a volunteer at the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, and the Suedburg Church Library. She raised a large garden and enjoyed canning, freezing, cooking, baking, and garment tailoring. She was focused on the education of her children and her life was exemplified by committing to others first. Surviving is a son John Blouch (PSU, Yale) husband of Joyce Carpenter of Lebanon, a daughter Anne Stevens (PSU), wife of John Stevens of Linden Hall, PA, grandchildren Marianne Stevens, Leigh Moul, Jill Davidson, and John R. von Blauch, and great grandchildren Todd and Harry Ross, and Hayden and Baily Moul. Preceded through the portals of paradise by a daughter Rebecca Witczak, CRNP (PSU, Villanova, Penn) who died in 2014, infant son C. Michael, and an infant daughter Susan. Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM at the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main Street, Annville. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1-2 PM. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be made to the Lebanon Rescue Mission, 1223 Bitner Blvd., Lebanon, PA 17046.
