Karen Marie Kreider

Karen Marie Kreider, 57, of Lebanon, passed away on Friday March 23, 2018 at her residence. She was the wife of David A. Kreider, with whom she celebrated 36 years in marriage this past October. Karen was born in Philadelphia on July 25, 1960 to Dolores M. (Kubilus) Haffey of Cleona and the late Charles D. Haffey. Karen had worked for The Hershey Company from 1978-1988 in the syrup department. She had also worked at Lebanon Valley College in the mail room. Karen attended Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, Annville. She was an avid scrapbooker and loved photography. She enjoyed thrift shopping, playing handbells, going on adventures, walking, gardening, flowers, making food, and nature. Karen was a good listener and could talk to anyone. She was a social butterfly. Karen’s pride and joy was her beloved grandson, Ethan. Karen was an awesome wife, she was an answer to the prayers that David had been praying for. Surviving in addition to her husband and her mother are her children, Aubrey Lynn Bowman and her companion Tyler Werkheiser of Annville, Alyssa Marie and her husband Ryan Van Houten of Hershey, grandson, Ethan Lawrence Bowman, Ethan’s father, Travis Bowman, Aunts, Eva Wesnoski, Deb Kubilus, Jean Kubilus, and cousins, Beth Ann, Jim, Frank, Robin, and Eileen. She is also survived by David’s side of the family, his mother, Nancy Kreider, his brother and his wife, Michael Kreider and Charlene, their son, Derek and his wife Catalina, David’s Uncle Robert Bross and his children, Charles, Sue, and Cindy, and David’s sister, Becky Kreider. It was because of Karen’s bright and positive personality that the family is requesting those who attend the funeral wear shades or hues of her favorite color green to remember her life. There will be a viewing held on Monday evening, April 2, 2018, at Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 618 E. Main Street, Annville from 6PM-8PM. There will also be a viewing on Tuesday morning April 3, 2018 from 10AM-11AM at the Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, 710 S. White Oak Street, Annville. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11AM at the church. Interment will be in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville.
