John A. Walter

John A. Walter, 66, of Jonestown, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at the Lebanon VA Medical Center, surrounded by his beloved wife, family and a few close friends. He was the husband of Cathy E. Cohick Walter. Born on December 31, 1949, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth Killraine Walter. He loved driving truck and for several years he drove for Spinnaker Trucking, Bethel and for the last year he drove for Fox’s Transportation. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Jack loved life and he lived it to the fullest. He loved riding his Harley and he loved his animals, Mitzi, Marv and Tiger. He’d tell people that he loved his animals more than he cared for most people. For over 40 years, he was a member of the Lickdale American Legion Post 610. He was also active in his recovery program and would have had an 18 anniversary on March 11th. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son John A. and his wife Jamie Walter of Seattle, WA; daughter Tina McDonald of Pottsville, Sheri wife of Chris Yordy of Jonestown, Amy Boger of Ono and Beverly Werni Whitman of Ono; sister Michelle wife of Russ Zellers of Fredericksburg; grandchildren P.J. Karpew of Cincinnati, OH, Judd Erdman, Autumn wife of Dustin Kreider, Gabi Shifflet, Laura Yordy and twins Owen and Amelia Sidgua and a great granddaughter Annastasia. He was preceded in death by his brother Terry Walter. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the convenience of the family. www.kreamerlumfh.com John A.
