Dr. William Francis Hallahan

Dr. William Francis Hallahan, 87, of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Good Samaritan Hospital. By his bedside were his beloved wife of 62 years, Judy (Kurtz) Hallahan, and all three of their children. Raised in Binghampton, New York, Bill Hallahan was the son of the late Harold and Josephine (Brown) Hallahan. He graduated from Mount St. Mary’s University in 1960 and earned his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine in 1964. Following medical school, he proudly served for two years as an officer in the United States Air Force in Columbus, MS, before continuing his medical training. Medicine was not just a profession for Bill, it was a calling. After completing his training in both Internal Medicine and Cardiology, he joined Lebanon Cardiology Associates, where he spent many years caring for patients in the community that he loved. He took great pride in his work as a physician and in the relationships that he built with patients and colleagues over the course of his career. Even after retiring from private practice, Bill found it difficult to hang up his lab coat. He continued seeing patients part-time at the Lebanon VA Medical Center two days a week, caring for veterans with the same dedication and compassion that defined his career. After retiring from the VA, his commitment to service continued through volunteer work at both the Lebanon Free Clinic and the Volunteers in Medicine Clinic, and he participated in several medical missions with World Blindness Outreach. Family was the center of Bill’s life. He shared a deep and enduring partnership with his wife Judy and was a devoted father to his three children, Betsy, John and Susan. He was a proud and loving grandfather to six grandchildren — Alexander Davis, Isabel Glen, Charlotte Glen, Harrison Davis, William Glen and Lincoln Hallahan — who brought him immense joy. Outside of medicine, Bill enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He was an avid reader, a devoted Phillies fan, and loved swimming and spending time on the golf course with friends. Known to friends as a bit of a pool shark, he enjoyed a friendly game whenever the opportunity arose. He was a faithful member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church and Rotary Club. Service to others and giving back to his community were guiding principles throughout his life. In addition to his wife Judy, he is survived by Betsy Davis and her husband, Geoff Davis; John Hallahan and his wife Michelle (Shelly) Cramer; and Susan Glen and her husband, Rob Glen; his six grandchildren; and his sister, Margaret (Peggy) Shiel. Memorial services for Dr. Hallahan will be held Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Kreamer Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will be private. There will be no viewing or visitation prior to the service.
