Donald J. 'DJ' Rhine

Former longtime Lebanon County Administrator Donald J. Rhine passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015 at age 78 peacefully at home. Don was in that position and worked for the general public for 25 years. Previously before his County Administrative position, he started work for Food Fair (Pantry Pride). He worked his way up through the ranks including two years of store management schooling. Eventually, he became Manager of the Lebanon County Pantry Pride at the Lebanon Plaza. When he left the store for his new position, his store was the top of the whole central PA in sales volume. Don leaves his beloved wife Joyce (Lauer) of 58 years. He is survived by his younger brother Neil Rhine of Lebanon. He was proceeded in death by brothers Earl, Kenneth, John, and sister Betty Loose. He was born son of Earl Rhine and mother Ellen (Donley) Rhine on July 6, 1937. He is also survived by his beloved wife Joyce as mentioned above and four daughter’s Donna Gasper wife of Gary of Fogelsville, Sharon Lingle wife of Bob, Shelly Tice wife of Tom, Diane Longenecker wife of Tim. He is also survived by seven grandchildren Adam Gamble and his wife Andrea, Alex Gamble and fiancé Melissa Hammer, Meredith, Monica, & Maria Tice, Rachel & Ryley Longenecker, & one great granddaughter Kaydence Gamble. Also survived by two step grandchildren Joey Lingle & Colette Heist and three great step granddaughters Aleah Heist, Aubrey Heist, Annabelle Lingle. He also had many nieces and nephews and extended family. Don was a 1955 graduate of Lebanon High School. He is a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Annville. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and played tennis for forty years. He had thousands of friends and was loved by everyone. He touched many lives in his lifetime. For forty years he had breakfast every Saturday morning with a great bunch of good buddies. In lieu of flowers, donations should be sent to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 125 S. Spruce Street, Annville, PA. A visitation will be held at Kreamer Funeral Home, 618 E. Main Street, Annville on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Prior to the visitation, there will be a Rosary service at 5:30 pm at the Kreamer Funeral Home. A Mass will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Annville, PA on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 1:00 pm with a visitation at the church two hours prior to the service.
