Alice Kathryn Early Sweinhart

Alice Kathryn Early Sweinhart, 91, formerly at Countryside Christian Community for 17 years, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday September 16, 2014 at Spang Crest Manor. Born in Palmyra on March 6, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Frank A. and Carrie Eckert Early. She was the wife of the late Alton O. Sweinhart, who passed away November 16, 1997. Before moving to Countryside Christian Community, she lived on the family farm in North Londonderry Twp. for 43 years. For 85 years, Alice was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Congregational Church in Steelstown, where she was the secretary of the Sunshine Bible Class for a number of years. She was a WCTU member. She was a homemaker, loved her flowers and her vegetable garden. Alice enjoyed gardening, sewing, baking her delicious drop cookies and embroidering quilts for each one of her grandchildren. She was a kind, generous, caring person. Alice was always thinking about others before herself. But most of all she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her sons Harold A. Sweinhart and wife Nancy of Myerstown, Glen E. Sweinhart and wife Connie of Annville, Dean E. Sweinhart and wife Jackie of Annville, daughters Mary A. and husband Robert Blauch of Annville , Jean M. Sweinhart of Annville, Beverly A. Boltz of Annville, eight grandsons, one granddaughter, nine great granddaughters, two great grandsons, one great grandson on the way, several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, a brother Harold H. Early of Palmyra, and a sister Jane Shuey of Annville. She was preceded in death by a brother Henry Early, two sisters Leah Kleinfelter and an infant sister Mary Early. Funeral services will be held on Monday September 22, 2014 at 11AM from St. John’s Evangelical Congregational Church, 683 Steelstown Road, Annville. Interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra. There will be a viewing held on Sunday evening at Kreamer Funeral Home, 618 E. Main Street, Annville from 6PM – 8 PM. There will also be a viewing held one hour prior to the service at the church from 10AM – 11AM. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in her memory to her church or to Countryside Christian Community, 200 Bellann Court, Annville, PA 17003.
