William G. Obitz Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

William G. Obitz, 86, of Lebanon graduated to glory on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. He was the husband of the late Janet L. (Klein) Obitz who passed away in 2021. Born in Baltimore, Maryland he was a son of the late Charles and Gretchen (Scheler) Obitz. William worked as a salesman for Pro Keystone Garage Door Company, served in the US Army and was a member of God’s Missionary Church in Lebanon. William is survived by three children Dawn, wife of Sam Phoubandith, Mark Obitz and Steven Obitz; two step-daughters Andrea, wife of Michael Burdge and Maria, wife of Richard Wittmeyer; eight grandchildren Alan, Linda and Kara Phoubandith, Jeremy Hine, Katelyn Kline, and Mitchell, Madison and Maxwell Burdge; nine great-grandchildren Dameon Jr, Daz, and Mila Ballenger, Reyah Cool, Mackenzie, Jameson, and Jeremy Hine, and Liam and Lilly Kline; and one sister Irma Potz. He was preceded in death by a brother Charles Obitz Jr. and a grandson Michael Burdge Jr. Bill enjoyed serving the Lord, leading A Joyful Noise song ministry in his earlier years with his wife Janet, joining a missionary team to build a church in Ecuador, designing and physically building (along with friends and family) his and Janet’s beautiful Ontelaunee home, living and working at Blue Mountain Christian Retreat for several years, traveling to some beautiful locations, spending time with the Runny Eggs Breakfast Club and all of his dear friends and cherished family. He was a great puzzle maker and a lifelong fan of the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Colts/Ravens. His life is a testimony of God’s faithfulness, and he’s now enjoying dancing on the streets of gold with his wife Janet and all of those who have gone before him…and most importantly, he’s making a joyful noise and singing praises once again to the King of kings and Lord of lords. Thanks be to God for His mercies that are new every morning. Bill’s Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at God’s Missionary Church, 2127 Hill Street, Lebanon, PA 17046.
