Ray M. Funck

June 29, 1943 - January 1, 2022

Ray Marlin Funck, 78, of Palmyra, died Saturday, January 1, 2022, at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Ann (Mull) Funck of Palmyra. Born in North Annville on June 29, 1943, he was the son of the late Edwin L. and Jennie A. (Reist) Funck. Ray was a member of Kauffman’s United Methodist Church and owner/proprietor of Funck’s Family Restaurant. Ray and his wife went into business in 1969 with the opening of Tastee Freeze in Palmyra which was then expanded into Chicken Lickin’ and eventually Funck’s Family Restaurant. In addition to the many years in business, he spent much of his life traveling the world. Ray and his wife were able to travel to six out of the seven continents, making many friends along the way. He valued family and studied genealogy, meeting with relatives from around the globe. Surviving in addition to his wife are four sons, Gary W. Funck, husband of Victoria of Jonestown, Alan C. Funck, husband of Victoria of Lebanon, Michael B. Funck, husband of Janel of Palmyra, Matthew R. Funck, husband of Andrea of Annville; 2 brothers, Richard Funck, husband of Nancy of Lawrenceville, Glenn Funck of Phoenix, Arizona; 2 sisters, Arlene Speck of Myerstown, Anita Smith of Prescott, Arizona; 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Edwin Funck and Henry Funck; 3 sisters, Mariann Maulfair, Eva Funck, and Doris Klobe. A public viewing will be held from 6:00PM-8:00PM on Friday, January 7, at Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main St. Annville, PA 17003. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, January 8, at the funeral home. A public viewing will be held on Saturday from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Mt. Annville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kauffman’s United Methodist Church, 380 Kauffman Road Annville, PA 17003, in his memory. Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, Annville is handling arrangements.
