Lena R. Ditzler Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lena R. Ditzler, 94, of Jonestown, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at the Lebanon Valley Home, Annville. She was the wife of the late Howard R. Ditzler. Born in Union Twp. on February 12, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Irvin and Sarah E. Spangler Shuey. Lena worked as a seamstress at Dutch Maid for many years. She was an active and lifelong member of the Salem Walmer’s Union Church. In addition, she was a member of the Jonestown Lion’s Club, where she had served as their only woman president. She enjoyed bird watching and playing pinochle with her family and Jonestown friends. She is survived by her daughter Doris Ditzler, and sisters Ruth Summerville of Annville and Edna Mae Grossett of San Antonio, TX. She was preceded in death by her son James H. “Jim” Ditzler and sisters Mary Fields, Sara Rehrer, Kathryn Nace and Esther Smith. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Salem Walmer’s Union Church, 25 Coulter Rd., Annville. A visitation will be held beginning at 1:30 p.m. until the start of the service. Interment will follow in Walmer’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of the Lebanon Valley Home for providing loving care and a wonderful home to Lena.
