August 28, 1962 - November 5, 2021
Her long, hard fought battle with Alzheimer’s disease is over, and she is resting peacefully, rejoicing and walking with Jesus. Our beloved mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, and sister, Kim Erb, 59, of Jonestown, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 5, 2021, surrounded by family. She was an amazing soul who touched the lives of many with her tremendous heart of service. Born on August 28, 1962, Kim was the daughter of Rose Nelson Eckert and the late Earl Eckert, Sr. She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Dave; her daughters, Sarah Windish (John) and Shelly Erb; her grandchildren, Andrew and Noah; her mother, Rose; and her brother, Earl Eckert, Jr. (Cindy). By far, Kim’s biggest accomplishment was her family, to whom she was fiercely loyal. She led by example with her tireless work ethic and took great pride in her daughters’ achievements and her grandsons’ milestones. She literally never missed an event, from birthdays, to traveling long distances for soccer tournaments, graduations, and everything in between. Nothing brought Kim more joy than spending time with her family, whether it be traveling, camping, or just being at home together. She enjoyed traveling with family, which often led her to a beach. This was her favorite place to be, at sunset, just taking in the views. Kim was always ready for a camping trip, making sure everything was packed carefully and activities were planned. She spent many joyful moments with her grandchildren: reading together, celebrating birthdays, playing outside, and just watching them grow up. Kim dedicated her life to service. This was evident in her 31 year career at Hershey Medical Center. She raised countless dollars in creative ways for various charities, including several cancer research initiatives like Relay for Life, and many Northern Lebanon booster clubs. You could always find her doing something to make her community a better place. A Celebration of Life will be held on November 11 at Lebanon Area Evangelical Free Church, where she attended regularly. Visitation will begin at 10:30, followed by the service at 11:30. Light refreshments will be offered after the service, followed by public interment at Kimmerling's Church. The family requests that all attendees please wear properly fitted masks during the indoor portion of Kim’s celebration. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.
