Jennings A. Hopkins, 89, of Jonestown, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022, at his home. He was the husband of the late Lorraine C. Hock Hopkins. Born in Harrisonburg, VA on January 17, 1932, he was the son of the late Dwayne F. and Evangeline Keyton Hopkins. Jennings retired in 1990 as a CW 5 after serving 44 years in the Army National Guard. Prior to that service, he also served in the U.S. Navy. He was a life member of the Jonestown American Legion, where he was serving as their treasurer. He was also a life member of the VFW Post 23, the AmVets Post 293, the 40&8, the Navy Club Ship #91, the 28th Div. Heritage Assoc., and the Perseverance Fire Co. He especially enjoyed going to Cape May with his family and watching westerns, the military channel, and Blue Bloods. He is survived by his sons Michael S. Hopkins of Jonestown, Brett A. and his wife Lisa Hopkins of Lebanon; daughter Debra A. Witmer and her companion David Himmelberger of N. Annville Twp.; brothers Ivan Hopkins of Lebanon and Richard Hopkins of Tipp City, OH; sisters Margie Binkley of Lebanon, Marion Agrusa of Santa Fe, NM, and Nancy Stutzman of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and his special friend and sister-in-law Fern Peiffer. He was preceded in death by his brother Carl Hopkins and sister Eunice Lewis. A memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment with military honors will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel-to-Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306.
