Rev. Henry C. Heagy

Rev. Henry C. Heagy, 94, formerly of South Annville Twp. died Tuesday, December 22, 2015 in Countryside Christian Community, N. Annville Twp. He was the husband of the late Dorothy A. Wenger Heagy who died in 2001. Born in South Annville Township on September 27, 1921, he was the son of the late Forney and Emma Smith Heagy. He was a retired South Annville Twp. Dairy Farmer and also a Minister in the United Christian Church for over 60 years serving as Presiding Elder of the church for over 25 years. Rev. Heagy was a 1939 graduate of Hershey High School and a member of Fontana United Christian Church for over 70 years and also a member of the Fontana Union Sunday School. He was a charter member of the Board of Directors of the United Christian Home and was instrumental in its construction by applying his own manual labor. He was also the liason and supported the Calvary Holiness Church ministry in Jamaica where he visited several times. Surviving are sons David W. Heagy of Lebanon, Glenn L. Heagy of Jonestown, Edward L. Heagy of Jonestown, Lynwood C. Heagy of Titusville, PA, Nelson P. Heagy of Lebanon, Luke C. Heagy of Red Creek, NY, Samuel J. Heagy of Meadeville, daughters Della wife of Carl Grubb of Lebanon, Ruth wife of Robert Hitz of Lebanon, Elva wife of Walter Allen of Lebanon, Thelma wife of Tom Sidebotham of North Port, Florida, Alice “Skeet” wife of Jay Fittery, Jr. of Annville, 41 grandchildren, and 68 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Valerie Heagy, a brother Irvin Heagy, and son-in-laws Butch Hirschbock and Landis Tice, III. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 AM at the Fontana United Christian Church, 22 Fontana Avenue, Lebanon. Interment will be in Gingrich Mennonite Cemetery, N. Cornwall Twp. Viewing will be held on Sunday evening from 6-9 PM at the Church and also on Monday from 9:30-10:30 AM prior to the service.
