Gerri Ann Varvel Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gerri Ann (Prouty) Varvel, 66, of Wormleysburg, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at her son’s home. Born in Brockton, MA on January 18, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred L. Prouty and Geraldine R. (Linehan) Sweet. She had worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Gerri liked sewing, gardening, and volunteering with the St. Jude’s ladies. Most of all, she enjoyed her family and playing with her grandchildren. She is survived by her children Heath (Jessica) Varvel of Lemoyne and Jennifer (Dan) Varvel of Stafford, VA; stepmother Carole Prouty; grandchildren Hannah, Ari, Malik, and David; sisters Susan Smith, Michele wife of Real Julien, Jan wife of Scott Wenger, Pam wife of Chuck Malkemes, Donna wife of Tony Morris, Debbie Noonan, and Billie Jo wife of Todd Bustard; Brothers Donnie Sweet and Michael husband of Joyce Sweet; numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and her dear friend Ed Hostetter. She was preceded in death by her sisters Jill Bernheisel and Robin Perry, and brother Billy Chirokas. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 72 & Camp Meeting Rd.. Jonestown. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family.
