Elaine Rotz Zapata Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Elaine Rotz Zapata, 61, of Annville, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 24, 2022, at WellSpan Health Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. She was the wife of Wiliam Zapata-Morales of Annville. They would have celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary in September. Born in Chambersburg, on March 20, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Robert L and Margaret (Horst) Rotz. She graduated from Chambersburg High School with the class of 1979. She worked as an administrative assistant for Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. Elaine was a member of the Mt. Wilson Church of the Brethren, she enjoyed traveling and planning the trip, baking, painting, gardening, interior decorating, bird watching among many other things. Most of all she was the backbone of the family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons Mikhail Zapata-Rotz of Lancaster and Lech Zapata-Rotz and his fiancée Meghan Baum of Lancaster; brothers John R. Rotz (wife Barbara) of Chambersburg, C. Alan Rotz (wife Robin) of Boalsburg, PA, Lynn E. Rotz (wife Lynn) of Chambersburg, and Joel B. Rotz of Mechanicsburg, PA (wife Ronda). Funeral services will be on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Annville Church of the Brethren 495 Maple Street Annville, PA 17003. Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. to the start of the service. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Church World Service, Heifer International, the American Civil Liberties Union, or Planned Parenthood.
