William "Bill" Zimmerman

William “Bill” Zimmerman, 75, of Myerstown, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday November 15, 2017 at his residence. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary L. (Gibble) Zimmerman. Bill was born in Reading on May 12, 1942 to the late Paul and Helen (Lutz) Zimmerman. Bill was a graduate of Newmanstown High School and he received his Associate’s Degree from Penn State University in Production Management. He was a production control manager for 20 years at Clever Brooks and 32 years at Lebanon Tool Company. He was an income tax preparer for H&R Block and a self-employed tax preparer. He was a member of Fairland Brethren in Christ Church in Cleona. He was a previous member of the Lebanon Rotary Club, where he hosted exchange students. He was also a member of the Quittapahilla Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, listening to country and bluegrass music, and watching baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves. Bill’s greatest love was spending time with his beloved family. The family would like to send a special thank you to the kind and caring nurses of WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospice for the excellent care, love and compassion that was given to Bill and his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, William Zimmerman Jr. and his companion Wanda of Lebanon, Pamela and her husband Brian Harmuth of Lebanon, Patricia and her husband Bryan Scott of Lebanon, Kristi and her husband Rick Hackman of Myerstown, grandchildren, Ben, Jeremy, Jason, Chris, Alex, Shawna, Mike, Jocelyn, Mandy, Jesse, Kearsten, Jaya, six great grandchildren, and three great grandchildren on the way. Bill is also survived by a brother Gerald Zimmerman and his wife Shari, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Alan Zimmerman, a granddaughter Katie, and his sister Joan Jones. A Memorial service will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 11AM at Fairland Brethren in Christ Church, 529 W. Penn Ave., Cleona. Interment will be held privately at the Heidelberg Church of the Brethren Cemetery. There will be a visitation held with the family from 10AM until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Fairland Brethren in Christ Church.
