Roseann F. 'Rosie' Potteiger

Roseann F. (Rosie) Potteiger, 83, a longtime resident of Annville, and more recently of Palmyra, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother entered the gates of Heaven on September 20, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Clarence J. and Ella L. Funk of Lebanon. She was married by the late Rev. Paul R. Wert in St. Paul’s EUB Church on North 8th Street in Lebanon on August 16, 1952 to her beloved husband and lifelong friend, John S. Potteiger with whom she celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary this past August. While attending St. Paul’s she was a Sunday School teacher in the youth department for many years. She also served on many comittees and held administration positions of the church. She is currently a member of Covenant UM Church, Lebanon, where she was a member of the Chancel Choir and the Adult Chime Choir. She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1950 where she played basketball and also girl’s softball. “Rosie” as she was afffectionately known, enjoyed all the times spent with her family, camping, vacationing and was so very proud of her children and adored her grandson, Ian. She was employed as a clerk for Lebanon Bethlehem Steel Co. and worked for 25 years as a secretary and cashier at the Annville Cleona High School cafeteria. “Rosie” “The Lunch Lady”, as she was known, will be remembered by many students as she was a friend to all and a confidant to many. She was very interested in sports and was a loyal fan to almost all of Annville Cleona sporting events. She was also a fan of the Duke Blue Devils. She is survived by one daughter, Jayne R. Lane, wife of Randy L. Lane, grandson Ian J. Lane, all of Hummelstown, PA, and also several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, James R. Potteiger, and infant children, Kathy C. and Gary J. Potteiger, and brother the Rev. Clarence R. Funk. Funeral services will be held on Friday September 25, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Covenant United Methodist Church, 346 N. 9th Street, Lebanon, PA 17046. Interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra. There will be a viewing held Thursday evening at Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main Street, Annville from 6-8 PM. There will no viewing at the Church but a visitation from 9:30-10:00 AM prior to the service Friday morning. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to her Church in her memory.
