Nancy E. Biever

Nancy E. Biever, 93, formerly of Lebanon, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Spruce Manor in Reading. She was the wife of the late Arthur L. Biever, Jr. Born in Lebanon on October 16, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Helen (Brandt) Shultz. Nancy had worked in the office for Wilhelm Oil. She was a member of the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church. To know our Nanny was to know a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who gracefully passed away leaving behind a lifetime of love, kindness, and memories that will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. To her family, she was lovingly known as Nanny. But the truth is, you didn’t have to be related to her to call her that. She had a way of loving people, caring for them, and making them feel like family. Her heart was simply big enough for everyone. Nanny was one of the most selfless, caring, and giving people you could ever know. She never thought twice about opening her home to her grandchildren for the weekend, having them come spend the day, or making room for one more at the table. There was always a place for you, always something to eat, and always someone making sure you were taken care of. If someone needed something, Nanny gave. If someone needed help, she was there. And if someone needed love, she gave that freely too. Some of the most treasured memories of her life were made around her family. The countless birthday get-togethers, holiday celebrations, family dinners, and ordinary days that somehow became special simply because Nanny was there. She had a way of bringing everyone together and making family feel like the most important thing in the world. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren an infinite amount. Their happiness was her happiness. She cherished every visit, every hug, every birthday, every holiday, and every little moment she was able to share with them. Her love was unconditional and unwavering, and she made each of them feel special and deeply loved. Nanny also had a heart for anyone who needed a helping hand. She hardly ever said no when someone was in need. Whether it was her time, her home, her food, her advice, or simply a listening ear, she gave without expecting anything in return. Helping others was simply who she was. Her greatest gift was not something she could wrap or give—it was the love she poured into everyone around her. She taught her family, through the way she lived, that generosity, compassion, and family are among life’s greatest treasures. Although our hearts are broken by her passing, we are comforted knowing that the love Nanny gave us will never leave. It lives on in her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and in every person whose life she touched. We will miss her hugs. We will miss her laugh. We will miss gathering around her. We will miss hearing her voice and knowing that, no matter what, Nanny would be there. Most of all, we will miss simply having her here. Nanny was a beautiful soul who spent her life taking care of everyone else. Now it is our turn to carry her love forward—to love our families a little harder, help someone in need, open our homes a little wider, and cherish the time we have together. Her family was her greatest joy, and she was ours. Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever our Nanny. She is survived by her son Timothy S. husband of the late Dori Biever of Jonestown; her daughter Cynthia L. wife of Duke Miller of Lebanon; grandchildren Jacy Riel of CO, Jody (Scott) Boyd of Annville and Ryan Biever of TX; and her great grandchildren Carmen, Ben, Zoe, Gracyn, and Sunny. She was preceded in death by her brothers Ralph Shultz and Arthur Shultz, Jr. and sisters Arlene Youtz and Helena Rollman. A viewing for Nancy will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
