Mildred Louise Keiser

Mildred Louise Keiser, 97, of Cornwall, formerly of Kutztown, passed away on Thursday May 10, 2018 at Cornwall Manor. She was the wife of the late Russell E. Keiser, who passed away in 1960. Mildred was born in Lebanon on March 9, 1921 to the late Paul P. and Linda S. (Frantz) Rittle. Mildred obtained her bachelor’s degree in music education from Lebanon Valley College. She started her career at Manheim Central School District followed by the Fredericksburg School District, and finished her career by serving 30 years as an elementary school music teacher in the Oley Valley School District. Mildred was a member of St. Jacob’s Kimmerlings Church in Lebanon, where she was the former organist. She also played the organ for Salem Shalters Church, Fleetwood. While living in Kutztown, she was a member of the Kutztown Lioness Club and volunteered at Meals on Wheels. In her retirement years, she was active at her residence, Cornwall Manor, playing the piano for chapel services, organizing a knitting group aptly named “The Knitters,” and volunteering at the Curiosity Shop. Mildred enjoyed traveling, knitting, crocheting, quilting, and most of all spending time with her beloved family. She had a special love for her great nieces and nephew. She is survived by her sister Pauline and husband Leon Kauffman of Cornwall, nieces, Debra Kauffman and husband Howard Horst of Annville, Ann Keiser of Hendersonville, NC, Elsa Keiser of Hendersonville, NC, nephews, David Kauffman and wife Deborah of Lebanon, Thomas Kauffman and wife Tracy of Lebanon, William Keiser of West Redding, CT, and seven great nieces and nephew, Lauren and husband Matthew Becker, Courtney, Kelsy, Ryan, Mariah, Taylor, and Jenah. She was preceded in death by her sister, Bernice Rittle. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 21, 2018 at 11AM at Cornwall Manor, Levi Zerr Chapel, 1 Boyd Street, Cornwall. There will be a time of visitation with the family from 10AM until 11AM at the chapel. Interment will be private at Salem Shalter’s Church Cemetery, Fleetwood.
