Kenneth R. Witmer

Kenneth R. Witmer, 65, of Palmyra died Tuesday April 10, 2012 in his residence. He was the husband of Rose Hoke Witmer to whom he was married to for 44 years. Born in Lebanon on July 8, 1946 he was the son of the late Harold E. and Frances E. Henning Witmer. Ken was a 1964 graduate of Annville-Cleona High School and was a laborer for Hershey Chocolate Factory for 43 years working in the Kiss Moulding Department, logistics, and helped plan the West Plant. He also coached baseball and was a volunteer fireman with Union Hose Fire Company in Annville for 12 years. Ken was an avid coin collector and a member of the Hershey Coin Club, Brenda Lee fan, avid New York Yankees fan and collected baseball and Hershey Chocolate memorabilia. In addition to his wife Rose he is survived by three sons Steve Witmer and wife Kerri of Hellam, Mike Witmer and companion Kelly Keck of Middletown and Brian Witmer and wife Connie of Lebanon; three brothers Robert Witmer of Hershey, Jeff Witmer of Grantville, Larry Witmer and eight grandchildren Jacob, Logan, Nathan, Anita, Alex, Tony, Josh and Zachary. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00AM from the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main St. Annville. Interment will be held in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville. Public viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home and also one hour prior to the service on Saturday. A vigil service will be held Friday evening at 8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1274 Lebanon, PA 17042 or the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 1263 Lebanon, PA 17042 in his memory.
