U.S. Veteran

Kenneth E. Parks, 80, of Palmyra died Wednesday April 4, 2012 in Select Specialty of the Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill. He was the husband of Ann Clements Parks to whom he was married 56 years. Born in Charleroi, PA on July 1, 1931, he was the son of the late William E. and Garnet McCallister Parks. He was a retired math teacher from the Annville-Cleona School District for 30 years. Ken was a US Army veteran of Korea, a 1951 graduate of Shamokin High School, and a 1958 graduate of Shippensburg University. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit, Palmyra, the Campbelltown and Annville American Legion Posts, the Annville Union Hose Fire Company, and member and treasurer for 38 years of the Palmyra Sportsman’s Club. He was also an avid hunter. Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons Robert K. husband of Janet Parks of Palmyra, Andrew W. husband of Sandra Parks of Sinking Spring, William E. husband of Kelly Parks of Annville, and 7 grandchildren Elizabeth Parks, Alicia Parks, Michael Parks, Christopher Parks, Daniel Parks, Kayla Parks, and Gordon Parks. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 1:00 PM from the Church of the Holy Spirit, 245 W. Pine Street, Palmyra. Interment will be with Full Military Honors in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Monday from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM prior to the service at the Church. Contributions may be made to the The Dutchmen Foundation for Math Development, 520 South White Oak Street, Annville, PA 17003 in his memory.
